1. Purpose
These Terms govern the relationship between Brunch9 ("Company") and users with respect to the use of the "VersePop" (Korean: 말씀한줄) Android app ("Service"), including the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of each party.
2. Definitions
- "Service" means the card-based Bible-verse Android app provided by the Company.
- "User" means any person who uses the Service under these Terms.
- "Verse card" means a content unit composed of a single Bible verse and its reference.
- "Reflection" means the one- or two-sentence general devotional note provided to aid understanding of a verse.
- "Saved" means the feature that collects verse cards the User has saved.
3. Effect and Modification
These Terms apply to every User of the Service.
The Company may amend these Terms within the scope of applicable law and will provide notice in the App or on its website prior to any amendment taking effect.
4. Services Provided
The Company provides the following services:
- A Bible-verse card feed (the complete Korean Revised Version, bundled in the app and usable offline)
- Verse reflections (devotional notes)
- Saved verses — stored on-device
- A daily verse notification (a local notification scheduled and delivered on the device at a time the User chooses)
- Sharing to external messengers and social networks (e.g., KakaoTalk system share)
Because the Bible text and reflections are bundled within the app, an internet connection is not required to read the content. The Company may change the content of the services for operational or technical reasons.
5. Fees and Advertising
The Service is provided free of charge and displays no advertising. If a paid policy is introduced for additional features in the future, prior notice will be given and the User's consent obtained.
6. Scripture Copyright and Nature of Content
The Bible text included in the Service is the Korean Revised Version, and its copyright belongs to the Korean Bible Society. The Company displays this attribution on all relevant screens in the app and provides the text as-is, without alteration.
"Reflections" are general devotional notes intended to aid understanding; they are not the official doctrine or authoritative interpretation of any particular denomination. Some reflections were drafted with the aid of artificial intelligence (AI) and reviewed by the Company, but theological judgment and personal matters of faith rest with the User and their faith community.
7. Obligations of the User
The User shall not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service;
- Interfere with the normal operation of the Service;
- Reproduce or distribute the Bible text or reflection content for commercial purposes without permission;
- Use the Service to infringe the rights of others (copyright, reputation, etc.).
8. Intellectual Property
Copyright in the Bible text belongs to the Korean Bible Society, as stated in Section 6. Intellectual property rights in the Service's design, reflections, font licensing, and software belong to the Company or its rightful licensors.
Users may share verse cards to messengers or social networks for personal, non-commercial purposes, but altering the text or redistributing it commercially is prohibited.
9. Service Interruption
Because the Service bundles its content within the app and operates offline, reading, saving, and notification features are, in principle, usable without a network.
However, the Company may temporarily limit certain functions in the following cases:
- App maintenance, inspection, or rollout of new features
- Changes to operating-system (Android) policies or failures of external libraries
- Force majeure events such as natural disasters or power outages
10. Disclaimer
The Company is not liable for failure to provide service due to acts of God or other force majeure events.
The Company is not liable for service disruptions caused by the User or by the User's device environment (Android settings, notification permissions, etc.).
Reflections are intended as general devotional notes; the Company is not liable for outcomes resulting from their use as a basis for professional or doctrinal decisions.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
Disputes between the Company and the User shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
Such disputes shall be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
