1. We Collect Minimal Data
Brunch9 ("Company") designed "Parkit" (the "App") on the principle of collecting as little data as possible.
- The App requires no sign-up or login and does not collect identifiable information such as name, phone number, or email address.
- No advertising SDKs or ad-tracking technologies are used. We do collect anonymized usage statistics to improve the service (see Section 5).
- Your content — parking photos, spot numbers, notes — is processed and stored only on your device and is never transmitted to the Company or any third party.
2. Data Stored Only on Your Device
Parking photos, spot numbers, notes, timestamps, and preferences are stored only inside the App's own container on your device.
- Photos are kept only inside the App — they are not saved to your photo library.
- When you record a new parking spot, the previous record is automatically deleted.
- Uninstalling the App removes all on-device data.
3. On-Device Processing
- Text recognition (OCR) is performed entirely on-device (Apple Vision on iOS, Google ML Kit on Android). Images never leave your device and are not sent to Apple or Google.
- Car exit detection (optional) works differently by platform. On iOS it uses location and motion data on-device for visit monitoring; on Android it detects when your car's Bluetooth connection drops. In either case, location, motion, and Bluetooth data are never stored or transmitted.
- Notifications are local notifications generated on your device.
4. System Permissions
The App uses only the following permissions, all of which you may decline or change at any time. Permissions vary by platform (iOS/Android).
| Permission | Platform | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Both | Photograph your parking spot (stored only in the App) |
| Notifications | Both | Local "Did you park?" reminder |
| Location (Always) | iOS | Visit monitoring to detect car exit (on-device only; never stored or transmitted) |
| Motion & Fitness | iOS | Detect the driving-to-walking transition (on-device) |
| Nearby devices (Bluetooth) | Android | Detect your car's Bluetooth disconnect to infer car exit (on-device only; never stored or transmitted) |
Photo library access is not used (the system photo picker is used instead). The Android version does not use location or motion permissions.
5. Usage Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics)
To improve the service, we use Google LLC's Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage statistics.
- What is collected: app launch and feature-usage events, device model, OS version, language, coarse region (country level), and a randomly generated app-instance identifier.
- What is never collected: your parking photos, spot numbers, notes, or precise location — your content never leaves the device.
- Processing and transfer: these statistics are processed on Google LLC (USA) servers. See the Google Privacy Policy for details.
- Retention: automatically deleted after at most 14 months per our Firebase Analytics retention setting.
Beyond these usage statistics, no personal data is shared with third parties or entrusted to external processors.
6. User Rights
- Camera, notification, location, motion, and Bluetooth permissions can be revoked at any time in your device's Settings (iOS or Android).
- The car exit detection feature can be turned off in the App's settings.
- Uninstalling the App immediately removes all on-device data.
7. Children Under 14
The App does not require sign-up and does not collect personal data from any user, including children.
